Favorite Links for medical transcription reference material
These are on my favorite list for medical transcription reference sites:
http://www.labtestsonline.org/map/aindex.html This site provides a very comprehensive list of labs tests
http://www.medicinenet.com/medications/article.htm I use this site to reference medications. They are in alphabetical order, with 1 page per letter.
There are also categories for diseases, symptoms, procedures and a medical dictionary.
http://upin.ecare.com/ You can look up physician name with only a few letters of last name/first name. Also narrows search by state, specialty and zip
Sometimes in a surgical report the doctor will mention an instrument that I’ve never heard of. This site is actually a medical supply company but has categories for surgical instruments, wound care products, different types of slings, etc. http://www.medical-supplies-equipment-company.com/
For those of us who are working as independent contractors changes in small business regulation, tax laws, etc. are doubly important so don’t forget to vote for candidates who are supportive of the self-employed.
